023A Leugh Beginners S'chase

The Raceday Stewards granted a request from James Andrew Fahey, trainer of Insouciant Dallier (FR), for an additional ten minutes to present his charge for identification by an IHRB Official as per the provisions of Rule 90(i).

The Raceday Stewards reviewed an incident at the first fence involving Cowper Hall, ridden by K.M. Donoghue, and Live To Laugh, ridden by D.J. O'Keeffe, where it appeared Cowper Hill jumped right and Live To Laugh jumped left resulting in Live To Laugh falling. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the matter, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted.

K.M. Donoghue, rider of Cowper Hall, trained by Gavin Cromwell, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount jumped right at the first.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Cowper Hall, trained by Gavin Cromwell, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to have an overreach on its right fore heel but was otherwise post race normal.

023B Racing Again February 5 Mdn Hunters S'ch

The Raceday Stewards interviewed Mr B. Aherne, rider of Our Story, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who felt he had used his whip within the guidelines as one of the strikes did not connect with his mount. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Raceday Stewards were satisfied the rider was in breach of R10.3(g)(frequency) and having considered his clean record, they suspended him for two racedays.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Keep On Dreaming, trained by E. Bolger, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

Mr F. Maguire, rider of Made U Look, trained by Eugene M. O'Sullivan, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount got very tired on the run to the last and he tried to pull up but had to continue due to a horse on his outside. The Raceday Stewards reviewed the video footage and were satisfied no further action was warranted.

023E Killinan H'cap H'dle

C.M. Quirke, rider of Venturi Effect, trained by Timothy Doyle, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount burst a blood vessel. The IHRB Veterinary Officer confirmed the animal to have blood at both nostrils post race.

023F Holycross M'dn H'dle

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Eliodam (FR), trained by W.P. Mullins, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

P. Townend, rider of Eliodam (FR), trained by W.P. Mullins, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount stopped very quickly.

023G Horse & Jockey H'cap H'dle

The Raceday Stewards requested a report from Colin Motherway, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Pebble Bleu, placed first, as compared with its most recent run. The trainer reported that his charge ran flat the last day and he failed to pinpoint anything which led to the disappointing run. Having considered the report the Raceday Stewards noted its contents.
